Dr. Brian Clark
Dr. Brian Clark currently serves as the Director of Partnerships and Technology at the Spiritual Life Center, a role that allows him to bridge between the SLC and Hartford International University. Brian is a 2024 graduate of the SLC’s Spiritual Companioning Training Program; he also volunteers for the SLC as a Spiritual Companion and is active in the community. Brian also has a role at HIU, serving as an Instructional Design Consultant to the Howard Thurman Center, where he supports the Black Ministries Program. From 2015 to 2022, Brian served as Director of Instructional Design at HIU and taught courses in the History of Christianity. By serving in both institutions in ways that help them relate to each other, Brian serves as a bridge between the SLC and HIU communities.
Brian’s current intellectual interests bring together his explorations of Instructional Design, contemplative spirituality, and transformational learning. He is currently working to complete advanced training in Compassion Based Spiritual Direction, which incorporates aspects of Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Brian has been married for more than 30 years to his dear wife Amy, and they have adult twins. He loves singing and writing songs that express his spirituality. He pays a great deal of attention to both birds and bugs, but he does not know the names of many plants. Having experienced grace and kindness on his own healing journey, he aspires to be a healing presence for others.
