Death Cafe: Breaking Resistance to Discussing Death and Dying
Thursday 3/27 1:30 Pm -3:30 Pm
Tuesday 6/16 6:00 Pm - 8:00 Pm
At the Spiritual Life Center at 76 Sherman st in the historic West End of Hartford.
A Death Café is a free gathering where people come together in a relaxed, welcoming environment to eat cake, drink tea, and talk openly about death. The objective is "To increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives."
Conversations are participant-led, with no agenda and no set discussion topics. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session. All perspectives are welcome.
The Death Café venue provides a welcoming space for people of all communities, faiths, and belief systems to come together and share their feelings about—or experiences with —death, dying, and other end-of-life
topics.
Facilitated by: Marie Lorenzo
Cost: This Program is offered free of charge. We do ask that you register so that we may have adequate tea and cake on hand.
