Spiritual Resilience in Challenging Times: A Retreat Day for Clergy and Lay Leaders.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, this program has been cancelled and will hopefully be rescheduled in the fall of 2026.
We invite clergy and lay leaders of all affiliations who support justice efforts to attend a program that will help them:
- Share experiences, ideas, and solidarity with others who desire justice.
- Address the stresses, discouragement, anger, and fatigue you may face.
- Tap more deeply into the meaning and spirit that motivate and guide your work.
- Cultivate self-care practices and realistic expectations.
The Program
During the retreat, we’ll discuss how it feels to face current challenges and to companion people affected by them. We’ll share helpful ideas for dealing with the situations we leaders and those we serve encounter. Our sense of call and the motives for our work will also be explored and renewed.
The day’s program includes time for presentations, reflection, and sharing
in small and large groups. At noon, we’ll take a lunch break (please bring
your own lunch). After we eat, there will be an opportunity for silent
contemplative time in the church sanctuary and a presentation on finding
spiritual balance with Hildegard of Bingen as a guide. You can choose one
of these options or just continue to socialize.
This retreat is provided by The Alliance for Spiritual Resilience and sponsored by The Spiritual Life Center. For more information about the Alliance, contact resilience.spiritual@gmail.com
Please check in at 9:45 AM and join us for refreshments.
** Please bring a lunch.
Standard Cost: $55
Alternative Cost $35
