Join Jim Ligas on an experiential program focused on Buddhism and the Zen Approach.

I have practiced meditation for over 40 years, often alone but also with several Buddhist groups. I’ve done extensive reading about many religious traditions and their mystical aspects. I am NOT a master, nor would some of the things I say be considered strictly Buddhist. I have NOT “reached enlightenment”. Yet both my secular and spiritual life has greatly benefitted from the Zen approach I’ll share in this course.
Curious about what this program can offer that will benefit your secular and spiritual life? The core of Buddhist practice is devoted to understanding reality so that we can see why we suffer. Furthermore, its principals are the basis for the Mystics of every spiritual tradition. I think you’ll see that this tradition is compatible with any religious belief, or with none at all. This is an EXPERIENTIAL program, not a set of lectures. We’ll meditate together, contemplate how we needlessly struggle, and glimpse the future that could be ours if we so desire.
The book I’d recommend is: It’s Easier Than You Think, by Sylvia Boorstein. Before the first session, read at least pages 3-9. You’ll also receive a PDF file with other material we’ll use throughout the course.
