Events and Programs Cultivation Leader
Overview of the Position
The Events and Program Cultivation Leader will be part of the Center’s Leadership Team comprised of three people: a Pastoral Discernment Leader, an Administrative Attentiveness Leader and an Events and Program Cultivation Leader. Together, this team is responsible for the leadership of the Center; each has specific roles and responsibilities. The leadership team will be phased in beginning in late August through September 2008. The Events and Program Cultivation Leader will be responsible for coordinating the overall program elements of the Center, with particular attention to outreach to the wider community and expanding the participant base of the Center. S/he will have the opportunity to initiate, implement and evaluate programs and events offered by the Center both on and off site. The position is part-time, approximately 24 to 30 hours/week, and will include some evening and week-end commitments.
Specific Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive plan of programs for the Center
- Expand program content and target audiences to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse community
- Cultivate partnerships for collaboration and interaction with persons and organizations that share a common mission
- Coordinate the annual scheduling of all Center programs
- Evaluate programs and events and share the results with staff, presenters, Mission Effectiveness Committee and Marketing and Public Relations Committee members
- Coordinate the Living Spirit Awards and Annual Appreciation Events
- Provide hospitality for and tend to the needs of program presenters and participants
Qualifications
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers
- Experience working with persons and groups from diverse backgrounds
- Experience in organization and leadership
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer competency
Also desirable are:
- Awareness of current trends in spirituality, prayer and social justice
- A college degree in a field related to education, religious studies or adult faith formation
- Familiarity with educational and spiritual formation programs in the greater Hartford area
